Frequently Asked Questions
🪴 About My Services
Q: What areas do you serve?
I design gardens throughout the greater Seattle area — including Bothell, Kirkland, Bellevue, Mercer Island, Snohomish, and nearby communities. Remote consultations are also available for clients outside Washington.
Q: What services do you offer?
I specialize in garden design, planting plans, and full-scale landscape concepts.
Services include:
• 90-minute on-site consultations
• Custom design plans with plant palettes and layout drawings
• Contractor coordination for installation
• Seasonal plant sourcing, bulb layering, and aftercare coaching
Q: Do you install gardens yourself?
I partner with trusted local contractors and crews. I stay closely involved through the design and installation to ensure the final result matches the vision.
Q: What is your design style?
My approach is Piet Oudolf-inspired — naturalistic, layered, and evolving with the seasons. I mix grasses, perennials, bulbs, and seed heads for a garden that feels alive from March through October.
🌸 Consultations & Design Process
Q: What happens during a consultation?
We’ll walk your space together, discuss your goals, sun exposure, and maintenance level, and outline a clear direction. You’ll receive actionable ideas and next steps tailored to your garden.
Q: How do I book a consultation?
Simply visit the Consultation Page to select a time and complete a short intake form with photos of your space.
Q: What if I just want help choosing plants?
That’s totally fine! Many clients book a consultation just for plant selection or garden refreshes. You’ll get a curated list of plants, quantities, and recommended nurseries.
Q: How long does a full design take?
Most designs are completed within 2–4 weeks, depending on scope and season. Installation and plant sourcing can follow shortly after your design approval.
🌾 Plants & Materials
Q: Where do you source plants?
I work with top Pacific Northwest nurseries such as T&L Nursery, Big Trees Snohomish, and Rock Mountain Products, along with specialty growers for bulbs and ornamental grasses.
Q: Do you focus on native plants?
Yes. I integrate PNW natives and climate-resilient species that support pollinators and thrive in our local conditions — blended with ornamentals for color and texture across seasons.
Q: Can you design a low-maintenance garden?
Absolutely. My gardens are structured for long-term beauty with minimal upkeep — drought-tolerant, layered, and self-sustaining once established.
💧 Budget & Timeline
Q: How much does a garden project cost?
Design consultations start at $250, with full design packages typically ranging from $1,500–$5,000. Installations are usually $15,000–$50,000+, depending on materials and plant quantities.
Q: Do you offer phased installations?
Yes. Many clients build in stages — starting with hardscape and structure, then layering perennials, bulbs, and accents later in the year.
🌼 Aftercare & Support
Q: Will you help me maintain my garden?
Yes. I offer seasonal check-ins, sourcing help, and guidance on dividing or refreshing your beds so your garden continues to thrive.
Q: Can you help me find a maintenance crew?
Definitely. I can connect you with trusted partners for pruning, irrigation, and ongoing garden care.
